Over the past few years I have tried a number of direct sales companies, and I have always been dissatisfied with the products they promote. I don't know about you, but I can't sell something that I don't believe in. I am not one of those people who could “sell ice to eskimos”. After all those failed attempts I was ready to give up on the direct sales industry. I just didn't think I had what it took.
But last year all that changed. My husband left me, I had $20,000 in debt to pay off, 2 young children to raise, a house to keep up the maintenance on, and then, to make matters worse, I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I went from being a wife and mother with a bright and happy future ahead of me, to a single mother forced to rely on a pitiful parenting pension to live, who no longer had the capacity to work a regular job, all within a matter of weeks.
And then one day while I was scrolling through my Facebook wall, I came across an advertisement for a Work@Home business opportunity with a High-End Fashion Jewellery company. I was always a very practical person, and jewellery had never been high on my list of wants. If you knew me then you would NOT have classed me as a “Jewellery Lover”. The only jewellery I ever wore was my everyday earrings that I never took off, and my engagement and wedding rings. But after looking through the photos attached to the ad, I was intrigued, so I messaged the lady – who is now my Upline – and she sent me out more information.
I'll admit, I was skeptical at first. I have been burnt so many times. So, I read the email that was sent through very carefully. The starting commission caught my eye first. I mean 30%? That was almost double what I had previously seen at ground level. The next thing I looked at was the product itself. Fashion Jewellery! It's not something I had ever looked at buying before, because most fashion jewellery I had seen looked cheap. But this stuff was stunning. And the prices were affordable for even the lowest income earner – the bracket I was in, as was most people I know.
OK, so it paid good commissions, the product was marketable and affordable. But did it offer incentives for customers and hostesses? YES! The best I had ever seen. Not to mention the bonuses, rewards and incentives for me too if I joined. Let's just say I was excited. So, I gave the lady a call.
She was so enthusiastic, and it was contagious. She answered all my questions, and I could tell she was genuine. She didn't beat around the bush or apply any pressure, she just told it how it was, and I appreciated that. I hate being “sold” to. After we finished talking, I couldn't wait to sign up.
And do you know what? I've never regretted it. Not only do I now have a solid business I can work around my kids and my illness, I have made a friend for life. It's like we've known each other for years. Even her partner commented on it when I first met him, asking if we were sure we had only just met. I still have a ways to go before I reach the income level I have set myself to reach, but by just signing on with Park Lane, I have made that goal more achievable.
